Passports

The Poweshiek County Auditor’s office is an official passport acceptance facility.
Passport applications are accepted between 8:00 a.m. & 4 p.m.

You will need one color passport photo, a certified copy of your birth record, and a government issued photo ID. Applications must be signed before the acceptance agent and all applicants must appear. Both parents are required to appear with a minor under age 16 or an affidavit from the absentee parent is required explaining why they are unable to appear.
 

Passport Book Fees

Persons under 16 – $105
$80 payable to “US Department of State”
$25 payable to “Poweshiek County Auditor”

Persons 16 & over – $135
$110 payable to “US Department of State”
$25 payable to “Poweshiek County Auditor”

Passport Card Fees

Persons under 16 - $40
$15 payable to “US Department of State”
$25 payable to “Poweshiek County Auditor”

Persons 16 & over - $55
$30 payable to “US Department of State”
$25 payable to “Poweshiek County Auditor”

Expedited service is available for an additional $60 fee. Overnight Delivery return fee is available for an additional $14.96 fee. Fees are payable in the form of a personal check, money order or cashier’s check. Fees to the “Poweshiek County Auditor” are also payable in cash.
